The Federal Trade Commission requires that websites any relationships they have between a product manufacturer or service provider when they write about a product or service.
Here are the guidelines we operate under here at Just Effects Pedals.
* We do not get paid to do a review. We never accept money to review a product or service. We invest our own time to review and test products. We pay out of our own pocket the cost to produce all elements of the reviews.
* If we create a link to a product review, we will be paid a commission if you purchase the product from Skimlinks, who is our affiliate partner. These links are included after posts are written, and posts are never composed for the purpose of including advertising. We also receive commissions from eBay’s EPN affiliate program and Google Adsense.
* No advertiser will ever influence the content, topics or posts made on this site.
* As a general rule, we don’t review crappy gear! So, if we review anything, it’s something that we would use (or have used) ourselves. If you’re wondering why we don’t have any negative reviews, that’s why (and we don’t want to waste your time OR ours).
These are good rules and practices in today’s digital world. It’s important for you to understand the relationship between a person reviewing the product and the manufacturer or service provider.
If you don’t see a disclosure policy on a blog, that reviewer may be violating the law or at the very least the code of ethics. Here at Just Effects Pedals, we treasure our relationship with you, our readers, and we having nothing to hide. We thank you for your support of our site!
