Few effects pedal engineers have the kind of reputation that Oklahoma-based Robert Keeley has earned in the past few years. Keeley is known for being able to take an off-the-shelf $40 Boss pedal and transform it into a professional-quality stompbox that far exceeds its original specifications.

Some of Keeley's most well-known modifications include the Boss BD-2 ("Phat" mod), Boss DS-1 ("Ultra" mod), Ibanez TS-9 ("Baked" mod), and Boss TR-2 (various mods). Keeley also modifies several other pedals, including the Pro-Co RAT and the Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive.
