Although they are primarily known for their wide range of electric and acoustic guitars, Ibanez has had a hand in the effects pedal business since the 1970's, their most notable pedal being the much copied and cherished Ibanez Tube Screamer.
Originally, Ibanez contracted Nisshin Onpa (also known as Maxon in effects circles) to build the original TS-808 and TS9 Tube Screamers for Ibanez, as well as other pedals (including the AD9 Analog Delay, CS9 Chorus, and FL9 Flanger). Ibanez and Maxon discontinued their relationship in 2002.
Ibanez offers reissued Tube Screamers in a wide variety of models - the TS808, TS9, TS9DX, and TS808HW (hand wired). They also offer reissues of the delay, chorus, and flanger pedals listed above. They also offer signature pedals for Steve Vai (Jemini Distortion) and Paul Gilbert (AF2 Airplane Flanger).
