Multi-Effects Pedals
While individual effects allow you to pick and choose the best pedal for your needs, sometimes a more convenient option is necessary. That's where multi-effects pedals fit in. Usually, the pedal will allow three or more effects to be used simultaneously, such as overdrive, chorus, and delay. In recent years, the quality of such effects pedals has increased dramatically. With a Boss multi-effects pedal, such as the ME-70, the effects quality is equal to that of the individual effects. Some such pedals even include a modeling preamp, if needed. While it's hard to beat the flexibility and overall sound quality of individual pedals, a multi-effect pedal can be very useful for quick gigs or as a backup to a main pedalboard.
